Sales Country Manager Job Responsibilities


  • Drives and develops the annual strategic business plan process which includes the organization/structure, ATL campaign, the BTL activities (sampling, consumer collecting), the sports / events activities and the distribution /visibility / sales plans for the market.

  • Prepares the annual plans and the financial budgets / P&Ls in cooperation with the marketing and sales teams and the distribution partner’s management team.

  • Supervises the distribution/sales achievements by working with the distribution partner management and the sales force. Ensures that the monthly and annual distribution and sales targets are met.

  • Develops, motivates and trains the marketing/sales teams to ensure a high quality of effective and efficient work. Reviews the reports/plans/projects prepared by the teams and gives constructive feedback to improve.

  • Tracks competition and market developments to proactively adapt plans and strategic direction quickly &effectively.

  • Implements processes and structures without creating too much bureaucracy. Identifies local synergies and opportunities to avoid multiplication of efforts and maintain an efficient usage of resources (people, funds,etc.).

  • Works closely with the team, the international HQs and the other countries: Share learnings and best practices, aligns plans, shares latest updates, re-applies successful models.

  • Strengthens the co-operation with the advertising agencies and the leading international. Reviews the creative agency work and the requirements / developments of the communication material and oversees the execution of the work to ensure that they are in-line with the international marketing strategy.

  • Ensures that the POS items are very well stored, maintained and handled by reviewing the local operational processes. Ensures accurate maintenance of the POS master plans in the market.

  • Recommends and implements innovative solutions, ideas, processes, and breakthrough marketing / sales activities which will further grow the per capita consumption and / or improve the organization / structure.

  • Ensures that the teams run effectively the key operational processes. Examples are 1) Weekly marketing andsales meeting with all key members or 2) Monthly presentation to the distribution partner’s sales force to show them the monthly key results / activities which will motivate them.

  • Visits the markets regularly to check the brand’s distribution / visibility / activities, to better understand and resolve the issues, work with the teams and identify value – adding opportunities.

  • Runs the Performance Management System with the direct reports twice a year and secures that the same isdone for every person in the team. Addresses performance issues promptly and appropriately.

  • Develops training programs. Recommends training and defines business outcomes / value addition from training.

  • Deliver all targets of the agreed Business Plan: value / volume / control of operating costs, budgets, stocks /P&L.

  • Ensure On-Premise standards are met: availability / visibility / number of contracts / % of total business

  • Ensure Off-Premise standards are met (Retail & impulse): availability / visibility / volume & value share

  • Establish product brand image to prescribed standards through effective management of all strategic partners while maintaining good business relations

Qualifications for the Sales Country Manager Job


  • A university degree is a must

  • Clear understanding of markets, sales & distribution, competitor activity and consumer behavior in an FMCG context.

  • Ability to work through business strategies and implement them successfully, while managing the associated change & people processes

  • Strong analytical ability and commercial acumen to understand financial statements and market trends

Heshima Kenya is a non-profit organization based in Nairobi, Kenya dedicated to identifying, protecting, and empowering unaccompanied refugee children and youth, especially adolescent girls, through our specialized shelter, education, and advocacy programs. The Girls’ Empowerment Project (GEP) is our alternative education program that allows participants to access education and livelihood opportunities, learn about their human rights and to cultivate leadership skills. Consisting of 4 Levels, the GEP focuses on basic education, life-skills development, vocational training, and income generation through our social enterprise, the Maisha Collective. In 2018, we intend to expand the current GEP vocational curriculum so students can learn new skills that will help create new economic streams and improve their livelihoods.



The Professional Guidance Counselor is responsible for identifying sustainable livelihoods opportunities for Heshima Kenya beneficiaries. The position will report directly to the GEP Associate Program Director and will work in collaboration with the Business Education Teacher and Market Research Consultant.



Core Responsibilities



· Identify sustainable livelihoods opportunities for program beneficiaries



· Advise GEP students and Maisha Collective members on market opportunities they can pursue after graduating from Heshima Kenya programs



· Establish community partnerships that will support the sustainable livelihoods opportunities



· Support Market Research Consultant with pre-and post-testing of GEP students and Maisha Collective members to understand attitudes and knowledge of business and financial literacy



· Collaborate with Business Trainer business and financial literacy curricula as needed



· Work with the Business Trainer and SGBV Outreach Leads to create a new Business Ambassador Group (BAG) amongst GEP students and Maisha Collective members

Country Director, Farmer-to-Farmer, Kenya and Tanzania



ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking two Country Directors to serve on the antipated Farmer-to-Farmer projects in Kenya and Tanzania. As part of the Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) program ACDI/VOCA will provide short-term technical assistance through highly qualified volunteers to support international agricultural development activities with an emphasis on improving private agricultural operations. Activities may relate to all aspects of chosen sectors from production, processing, range management, marketing, credit and input supply, as well as improved agribusiness management, environmental conservation and improved policy and regulatory issues. Flexible volunteer assignments outside of the core sub-sectors can be utilized as targeted of opportunities to expand F2F outreach. The project"s primary goal is to generate rapid, sustained and broad-based economic growth in the agricultural sector. A secondary goal is to increase the American public"s understanding of international development issues and international understanding of the United States and U.S. development programs. The Country Director will plan, develop, and manage all aspects of the F2F core Country Program.



Responsibilities



  • Responsible for overall administration and implementation of ACDI/VOCA F2F program.

  • Act as ACDI/VOCA"s F2F representative to donors and in-country agencies.

  • Develop strategies and priorities in accordance with ACDI/VOCA and donor"s strategic objectives.

  • Develop and maintain constructive contacts with USAID and other donors.

  • Reports to F2F headquarters project management staff on corporate and project matters.

  • Initiates contact with targeted host country organizations to assess need for short-term technical assistance through volunteer specialists.

  • Provides advice and guidance to requesting host country organizations to (1) define their immediate and longer-term needs for short-term, technical assistance from agricultural and environmental specialists, and (2) completes applications in detail and accurately defines and writes scopes of work for volunteer assignments.

  • Assesses viability of host organization requests made to ACDI/VOCA, considering priority of development needs, terms of reference and scopes of work for the proposed assignments, necessary background of potential volunteers, and willingness and ability of requesting organizations to provide necessary substantive staff and logistical support to the volunteer.

  • Secures commitment to in-kind and/or cash contributions on the part of requesting organizations.

  • Assesses results of work and recommendations of ACDI/VOCA volunteers through interviews with officials of organizations that requested ACDI/VOCA assistance.

  • Monitors project budget to ensure that expenditures are within approved budget parameters and assists F2F HQ management team in ensuring that all appropriate financial reporting requirements are met.

  • Establishes own travel schedule required to carry out duties.

  • Recruits, develops, and manages host country project staff in accordance with good management practices and in compliance with host country labor laws.

  • Contributes to the professional development and training of project staff.

  • Contributes to the project reporting, public affairs and coordination activities.

Qualifications



  • Bachelor"s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in agriculture, international development or another relevant field.

  • Minimum eight years of relevant experience in Kenya or Tanzania required.

  • Proven leadership and management skills, including strong communication, planning, negotiating, and interpersonal skills. Ability to represent ACDI/VOCA before large audiences, build effective management and program teams, and negotiate with other donors, contractors, and host country organizations.

JOB SUMMARY:


Reporting to the Deputy Director – Safety & Security (DDSS), the Safety and Security Coordinator (SSC) is responsible for ensuring that staff members are working within an environment consistent with acceptable minimum safety and security standards. This includes working with the DDSS in development of appropriate security planning and mainstreaming the individual and collective sense of security and safety awareness and responsibility. It also consists of working with the DDSS to identify security challenges and proposing risk reduction/mitigation measures in addition to developing, maintaining, updating and implementing when necessary, security regulations and operating procedures according to the changing situation in North Eastern Kenya and the region that may have an impact on the CARE overall operations.


II: RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:


R1: Coordination of Safety & Security Services in Dadaab and areas of operations in North Eastern Province.


1.1 Monitor all security operations ensuring timely intervention and resolution in areas of concern.


1.2 Gather all security information in the NEP region, analyze and disseminate the same to the relevant offices.


1.3 Perform security assessments in Dadaab refugee camps and regularly review safety and security procedures.


1.4 Plan, organize and coordinate security escorts as appropriate, within the camps and/or out of Dadaab environments, whenever required.


1.5 Monitor staff and vehicle movements in Dadaab area of operations to ensure effective tracking of the same.


R2: Staff Management and Development


2.1 Supervise the Safety/Security Focal Persons in all the three camps of Hagadera, Dagahaley and IFO.


2.2 Identifying Unit’s staff development needs and design/identify appropriate interventions to address the needs.


2.3 Promote staff development through support, coaching and mentoring.


2.4 Promote team work and spirit through participatory leadership in the delivery of safety and security services.


2.5 Conduct periodic and appropriate safety and security related trainings for all CARE staff in Dadaab.


2.6 Ensure all staff understand and fulfill individual and collective responsibilities for safety and security.


R3: Security management


3.1 Ensure that security planning becomes an integral part of day-to-day operations.


3.2 Work with administration staff to ensure appropriate steps are taken to safeguard office


Premises, Equipment and residential property (guards, locks, lighting, alarms, and fire


equipment)


3.3 Manage a security related budget that ensures prudent Utilization and effective monitoring of the same.


3.4 Maintain and manage the CARE incident tool tracking and extract trend analysis to assist decision making in appropriate security planning,


R4: Contingency planning


4.1 Work with Deputy Director of Safety & Security to develop appropriate crisis management protocols and contingency planning for management of events such as: Kidnapping, Road Traffic Accidents (RTA), ambush, car hijacking, Death of employee, severe injuries and serious illness (hospitalization or medivac), Destruction of essential assets etc.


R5: Liaison and information sharing


5.1 Liaise/represent the organization/sector as appropriate with other agencies/stakeholders on matters of safety/security related.


5.2 Organise and disseminate as appropriate, relevant safety and security information to staff and provide/inculcate an opportunity for employees to share security-related concerns.


R6: Conduct and/or coordinate investigation as will be required


6.1 Conduct internal investigations as will be required.


III: AUTHORITY


· Spending Authority: Signatory authority Per Appendix K of the CIK Procurement Manual.


· Supervision: 3 positions, that is, Safety and Security Officers and Safety and Security Assistants and incentive watchmen based at the CARE compounds in the camps.


· Decision Making: Decision making responsibilities.


IV: CONTACTS/KEY RELATIONSHIPS


External: Law enforcement agencies, Local administrations, UN agencies, INGOs/IPs, NGOs, Other Government Departments/Ministries, Security service providers, Host/Refugees communities’ security committees.


Internal: Administration Unit, MSU Unit, GCD, Logistics sector, HR, WASH Sector, Education Sector and other integral partners,


V: WORKING CONDITIONS


The position is based at Dadaab Main Office (DMO) with frequent movements to CARE compounds or area of operations in the refugee camps. It also involves 10% visits to CARE Garissa project sites and area of operations. This is a non-family working station. The duty envisages the incumbent to be on call 24 hours. Hot weather condition is prevalent during most part of the year. There are minimal infrastructural developments with limited basic amenities. Road movement to and from work station to Garissa/Ukasi as well as for inter – camp movements must be conducted under armed police escort, Strict compliance to security operating procedures must be adhered to at all times. It is a six – days’ work station with a prorated compensatory time off according to the CTO policy. The incumbent may be required to travel to the Country Office (Nairobi) or elsewhere to perform official responsibilities as may be required. The incumbent shall reside in the CARE compound while executing his official duties and shall obey and adhere to residential compound regulations.


VI: QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology/Security Studies/Disaster Management Social Sciences/Police or Military from a recognized University/institution of higher learning.


Experience: More than 6 years progressive relevant experience gained in either the Kenya Police, Armed Forces or any other disciplined force and had attained the rank of Inspectorate above or its equivalent in other Services.


Certificate:


· Proficiency in MS – Suite


· Trained in fire safety


· First-aid response


· Radio Communication course/training

· Good analytical, investigation & report writing skills


  • Must have strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in a hardship/hostile environment.
