WEIGHTS AND MEASURES ASSISTANT II – JOB GROUP CPSB 10 (J) – (1 POST)

This position is responsible for ensuring traders goods are submitted for verification if they are of the right weight and measurement to ensure fair trade practices.

 Key Responsibilities


  •  Verify and stamp trader’s weights and scales;

  •  Inspect business premises to ensure compliance with weights and measures Act;

  •  Calibrate trader’s weights and measures;

  •  Maintain standards and testing equipment;

  •  Collect data on verified equipment at trader’s premises, stamping station and verification office. f) Sample pre-packaged goods for qualitative analysis;

  •  Account for revenue collected during verification of weights and measures exercises.

Qualifications


  •  Bachelors’ degree in any of the following fields; Physics or Mathematics or relevant equivalent from a recognized institution;

  •  Working knowledge of computer-based applications;

  •  Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation;

  •  Report writing skills;

  •  Knowledge Current legislation affecting the job holder’s area of responsibility.

  •  Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;

Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable
Salary: As set by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC)
