IT LECTURER

In line with the College’s vision to become a leading regional University by the year 2013, we are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of LECTURER IN IT

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Among other duties, he/she will be responsible for:
• Teaching at diploma and certificate level in the areas allocated by the HOS and as reviewed from time to time
• preparing lecture notes
• evaluating the outcomes of individual learning through formal assessments or informal methods and constructive ensuring feedback is given
• ensuring the subject course outline is sufficiently covered
• participating in the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The preferred candidate should:
• Have a Bsc. IT/Computer Science or Management Information Systems degree from a recognized university
• Have a minimum of 6 months experience in a similar position.
• Be a strong team player
• Be self driven
• Have good Communication Skills
• Have the ability to multitask
• Posses good leadership skills
• Be up to date with Current IT Trends
In addition to the above, he/she should have at least 3 of the following:
• Have a deeper Knowledge in Java Programming -including objects classes, Threads, JODBC, ODBC Technologies, phone application Java ME and Java EE languages will be of added advantage
• Visual basic 6.0/Dot net
• A deep Knowledge in C++ Programming -including classes, functions, Polymorphism and Inheritance
• Deep Knowledge in the following web Programming languages HTML, JavaScript, PHP, XML, Jumla, MYSQL Databases
• SQL Server 2005
• Microsoft office2007 suit
• Good Understanding in Accounting Packages like QuickBooks and Sage pastel
• Professional certifications e.g. ICDL,CCNA ,MCTS and MCSE/MCITP will be of added advantage
