Northern Water Services Board (NWSB) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
The board is responsible for provision of water and sanitation services in the following counties namely: Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Isiolo, Marsabit, Laikipia and Samburu.
In order to strengthen its internal control systems NWSB invites applications from qualified candidates to fill a vacant position of Internal Auditor.
Duties & Responsibilities
Development and Implementation of quarterly and annual audit plans and programsConducting audit assessments and tests in order to ensure compliance with the board’s policies, procedures and regulationsAssisting in procedural audits in the board, water service providers and district water offices to assure the effectiveness of the existing internal control systemsAuditing board asset use and accounting to ascertain effectiveness and efficiencyAuditing all payments made by the board to ensure compliance with budget provisions, policies and proceduresAssisting in monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of the risk management framework for adequate corporate governance in the board and the appointed water service providersEnsure actions are taken on the implementation of internal and external audit recommendationsHave a degree in commerce, business administration or an equivalent qualification from a recognized universityA minimum of CPA IIIAt least 3 years relevant audit experienceHe/she should be a person of strong analytical skills and high ethical and professional standardsBe proficient in the use of computer packagesPlease send your application attaching detailed CV and copies of academic and professional certificates to the address below by 18th November 2010.
