Positions: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (Wash) Coordinator
Reporting to: Programs Manager
Location: Marsabit

FH/Kenya (Food for the Hungry), a Christian Relief and Development NGO seeks to recruit Water and Sanitation Coordinator. Reporting to the Program Manager she/he will be responsible for the coordination, provision of technical advice and supervision of program staff and support of the implementation of water program activities to ensure the achievement of the desired targets to realize the objectives of FH/Kenya’s “Vision of Community.

Key tasks and responsibilities
1. Support program Manager in development of WASH strategies
2. Survey, plan and design of the water projects.
3. Preparation of Bill of Quantities and Tender & Contracts.
4. Provision of technical advice on specifications of materials for purchase.
5. Build effective collaboration with diverse partners including churches, GOK departments, CBO groups, NGOs and other development agencies
6. Contribute to the overall planning and evaluation of the watsan project, supporting and encouraging the development of activities and working towards enhancing the project’s capacity to achieve its objectives.
7. Compile timely and quality monthly, quarterly and annual reports on program activities and progress.
8. Supervise staff to ensure quality workmanship.

Competencies & Skills
1. Holder of B.Sc in water and environmental engineering
2. A minimum of 3 years experience working on community-based water, hygiene and sanitation projects, in an NGO setting.
3. Practical knowledge in design of community water and sanitation system.
4. Experience in proposal writing watsan programs, especially for USAID and or other international donors
5. A minimum of 3 years experience working on community-based water, hygiene and sanitation projects, in an NGO setting.
6. Excellent report writing, interpersonal and communications skills
7. Knowledgeable in computer packages e.g., MS-Word, Excel, etc.
8. MUST have a valid accident free driving license with over 5 years of driving experience.
9. Enthusiastic and committed to serve the poor in relation to FH/Kenya’s Christian foundation and beliefs
