Our Client is a Hygiene Services company looking for an Procurement Assistant.

Location: Uganda

To support the business in the provision of materials and equipment used in operations.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

A description of the key responsibilities incumbent in this key post is provided below

Organize all procurement activities relating to request for proposals, sealed bids, and price quotes.Review requisitions for completeness and accuracy; follow up on discrepancies with the initiating department/school; identify available suppliers for each requisitioned item.Organize and maintain computerized records containing vendor and bid information.Process requisitions into purchase orders using buy speed and any resulting change orders.Receive, open, screen, log and date stamps bid responses/quotations, mail as required and organize bids for review by the specialist.Maintain and update professional library publications.Perform general clerical duties such as maintaining general files, typing, and data entry, opening mail, and completing and processing standard purchasing forms.Coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments as requested; respond to inquiries which do not require the personal attention of the Country Management.Correspond with vendors regarding prices, product availability, and delivery.Respond to inquiries from school staff regarding requisitions, purchase orders, contracts and pricing information.Performs administrative and secretarial duties for a discipline lead, manager, department, and/or business unit under moderate supervision and direction.Coordination of project procurement documentation (reports, correspondence, presentations, spreadsheets, supplier queries and data, purchase orders, requisitions etc.) including the preparation, formatting, approval and distribution.Coordinates meetings and logistical details for the project procurement team, including travel, off-site meetings and audio-visual requirements. Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Advisor Plan is an international humanitarian child centered community development organization, without religious, political or government affiliation. Plan is committed to protecting and promoting child rights and to improving the lives and futures of poor children, their families and communities through a child-centered community development approach.
Plan is seeking to recruit a Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Advisor. The successful candidate will be required to provide strategic leadership, advice and support for innovative Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programs and engages with various key duty bearers to contribute towards promotion of improved service delivery to right holders. The post holder will also be specifically involved in providing technical advice and support to Plan and other organizations on Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS)Participate and contribute regularly through sharing of best practices and Plan Kenya experiences in the Inter Agency Coordinating Committee (ICC) in general and in particular, the Sanitation Technical Working Group and Hygiene Technical Working Group, WESCORD (Water and Environmental Sanitation Coordination Working Group and other WASH related networks.Participate in the Water Sector Reform Platforms and provide information to PUs on the GOK and bilateral financing opportunities.Identify and promote innovative approaches to WASH within Plan and with other key partners.Support documentation and sharing of experiences from innovative WASH programs.Provide periodic strategic technical advice and support to PUs and ensure quality programming in WASHProvide guidance in the design and implementation of WASH baselines, Monitoring and Evaluation activities at Country and PU levels;Participate in PlanWASH network platforms at national, regional and global levels;Capacity building for Plan Kenya staff and Partners in WASH areas of need in line with the new CSPProvide leadership in the CLTS Unit and be a resource in responding to client needstraining, research, M&E and documentation within Kenya and the region.Effective follow-up and support of CLTS activities at PU level - with staff and natural leadersPreparation of grant concept papers and proposalsRepresentation in associated learning and other eventsSupport implementation of grant funded projects (i.e. the NLNO grant - Empowering Self-Help of Rural and Peri-Urban Communities and schools; WSI/AusAid ANO – Improving Community WASH in Kilifi, ACP-EU Water Facility – Improving Access to Water and Sanitation in Matungulu and Masinga Districts, etc.) according to plans and budgetsParticipation in national, regional and international conferences, workshops and other events and networks on WASHParticipation in agreed research and associated documentationMaintain effective networking with the Plan PU Health and WASH focal points, the line Ministry of Water and Irrigation and Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation and key NGOs as well as other stakeholders.Educational Qualifications and ExperienceMaster’s degree in Environmental Health and Sanitation/Public Health or equivalent;A registered engineer with a recognized body in Kenya;Experience in CLTS and participatory approaches to community development;3 to 5 years’ experience in participatory program design and monitoring & evaluation;Experience in rural/community water supply engineering/community water supply and sanitation marketing and technology development is desirable;Experience in partnership management and networking.Plan Kenya is a development organization uniting people to advance the rights of all children.

Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) has been working in South Sudan, and Jonglei State specifically, since 2006. Our main area of expertise is providing WASH services to disadvantaged rural populations through drilling and rehabilitating boreholes, creating sustainable O&M structures, providing hygiene promotion and safe sanitation. PAH is beginning a new WASH project in which we are considerably expanding the EP&R component according to the needs identified primarily in Jonglei State, and all South Sudan in general. PAH is hence looking for a suitable candidate to work as a Community Liaison Officer in the Emergency Response Team (ERT). The Team’s primary objective is reacting to WASH crises in Jonglei State. The Emergency Response Team will also organize and/or support distributions of non-food items (NFIs), especially WASH-related. The team will mainly work in Jonglei and will be deployable to other states, if the need arises.

Job Summary:-

The WASH program Coordinator will lead the technical implementation of the approved FH Water, sanitation and hygiene projects.

Under this role, he/she will be responsible for carrying out the pre implementation technical and social assessments of the different activities including but not limited to; survey and design, planning of field activities and overall technical supervision of WASH activities and assist the program manager in strategy development and fund raising.

Specific Duties

Result 1:- Backstopping on leadership and strategic development for the WASH program

Provide leadership for technical implementation of the WASH FH/K WASH program for staff under him/her.Assist the Program Manager in formulation of the general framework and strategy of the WASH program in including needs assessment for expansion.Assist in the design of monitoring system and strategic assessment of the programResult 2:- Technical support, Communication, reporting and fundraising
