This is a highly demanding role that requires the jobholder to coordinate issues of supplies and logistics Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesIdentifying the equipment/capital items to be imported
Placing of orders with suppliers
Ensuring that shipping agents have all the information they require to process IDFs and conduct pre-shipment inspections
Check shipping rates are competitive
Ensure timely shipping of all equipment/goods
Manage insurance of equipment/goods
Liaise with freight forwarders and clearing agents
Manage the stores and off-site storage
Stocks management and stock movement
Follow through on delivery and movement of supplies as per the needs and within timelines
To process requisitions by user departments.
To make follow up on deliveries and handle day to day purchases as assigned Qualifications /Candidate ProfileMinimum Degree/Diploma in procurement/supplies and logistics or related course.
Minimum 2 years experience in a similar or related position
Experience in logistics within Floriculture industry or other with hands-on handling of importation process including shipping and/or freight
Dealings with overseas suppliers – this company will deal with SA and USA primarily
High degree of honesty and integrity
Strong numeracy and analytical skills with excellent use of applicable computer skills
Good organization and coordination skills
Strong negotiation skills
Highly disciplined, street-smart and tenacious
Attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Goal oriented and has the ability to work under pressure.
Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
