The organisation based in Nairobi, Kenya is seeking an accountant in the Nairobi office. The holder of this position is responsible for updating, verifying, and maintaining accounting journals and ledgers. He/ she will also manage multiple grants an inventory management system, along with other financial duties as per approved policies and
procedures.
Job Description
Preparing cash book and postings to ledgers as requiredCarrying out reconciliation of various accounts as requiredReceiving payments and providing copies of receipts to relevant personsPreparation of monthly journals to the relevant GL accounts Tracking and auditing petty cash and assisting employees with expense reportsPreparing timely and accurate trial balance and other related financial statementsPreparation of periodic financial reports to donors as specifiedPreparation and filing of forms and documentation including, but not limited to, The Kenya Revenue Authority Verifying various claims as per approved proceduresPreparing payrollOversight of annual audit preparationReview of and adherence to respective financial funding sources grants, or letter of agreements and requirementsReview of overall internal accounting controls of the officeAny other assigned tasksACCA Professional Skills Level or CPA Part IIIKnowledge of accounting with 2 years of relevant experiencePrevious experience working with donor funding is A MUSTPrevious experience working with NGO an advantageDegree in business or accountingAbility to prepare financial statements and analyze financial reportsMS Office and knowledge of QuickBooksProficiency of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and proceduresThe successful applicant will receive a salary of Ksh 57,000 per month
