Financial Controller (Uganda) – Ref - RVR 12/8/1
Reporting to the Head of Accounting and Tax, the Individual will oversee the running of the finance function of the Rift Valley Railways (Uganda).Develop and maintain up to date internal controls, systems and processesLead and supervise a team of accounting and payroll staffEnsure compliance with corporate taxation, statutory requirements and accounting standardsProduce accurate and timely financial information on the company’s financial status and performance (including financial statements, reports, annual reports & budgets)Prepare and consolidate operational financial reports on a regular basisDevelop monitor and ensure the implementation of departmental budgets and overall company budgetsCo-ordinate and ensure timely external audits and limited reviewsAssist in developing and implementation of the strategy, financial policies and proceduresAct as the main point of contact with bankers, auditors and tax agents and provide them with the required information on behalf of the company.Undertake treasury management including the review and monitoring of the company’s cash flow projections as well as forex dealings.Manage creditors and financial approval of purchase orders.Education, Skill competencies, Experience & Motivational requirements:Bachelor’s degree and/ or Master’s degree in Commerce/ Accounting/ Finance/ Business AdministrationBe a qualified Accountant with CPA(U), CPA(K), ACCA, ACAMembership of professional accounting body i.e. ICPAK, ICPAU, ICPA, ICMA8 years’ experience in a senior management level, finance role in a large organization.Sound knowledge on statutory compliance regulations and accounting policies and proceduresAnalytical, business acumen, organizing and individual leadership skillsGood written and oral communication skillsWorking experience with SAP, ERP or other accounting systems will be an added advantage.Business Process & Control Manager - Ref - RVR 12/8/2
The job holder will be Reporting to the General Manager, Finance Planning & Control, and will be responsible for building an effective internal risk and controls management.Provide analytical control mechanism and process that balance business risk/controls with operational objectivesEnsure compliance with auditing guidelines and regulations.Establishing an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program consistent with Corporate Governance requirements.Design and implement an effective risk management policyProviding guidance on business process re-engineeringHead the business self-audit assessment processCoordinate the liaison between the business process owners and financeImplementing change management assessments for new business developmentsEducation, Skill competencies, Experience & Motivational requirementsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and/or Finance; MBA/CPA/CIA/CISA highly preferred5+ years’ experience in business controls as a Finance Manager (Controllership), Internal Audit Manager or Consultant.
