Vacancy: Compliance Officer
Williamson Tea Kenya Limited is seeking to recruit an experienced Compliance Officer at our Head Office in Nairobi.
The candidate will report to the Group Financial Controller and be responsible for tax and statutory compliance and other accounting and financial duties.
Key Responsibilities
The job holder will carry the following:
- Current and deferred tax computations
- Correct and timely filing of tax returns, on i-Tax platform
- Timely tax payments on i–Tax platform & monitoring of i-Tax ledgers
- Coordinate Tax Audits (Internal & External audits & KRA audits)
- Monitor Groups statutory compliance (NSSF, NHIF etc)
- Monitor & provide regular updates on tax & statutory legislation changes
- Other Accounts and Finance matters as may be assigned
Key Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of i-Tax platform
- Knowledge and understanding of the tax legislation; income tax Act, VAT Act & other statutory legislation
- Self-motivated, independent solution-oriented, deadline driven individual with strong time management skills
- Good negotiation and communication skills, including analytical ability and attention to details.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce- Finance/Accounting or any other relevant financial degree from a recognised University
- Professional training in Finance and Accounting
- 3-5 years tax experience in a reputable organization or tax advisory firm
- Exposure to accounting or audit work will be an added advantage.
