Bar Man / Master Mixologist Job in Uganda

Job Title: Bar Man – Master Mixologist
 

Reports to: Food & Beverages Manager.
 

Job Location: Based in Uganda.
 

Compensation: Competitive Compensation.
 

Position Summary: The job holder is responsible for updating and creating outlet specific cocktail menus for the hotel, creating standardized cocktail production procedures and pricing consistency for both properties.  

He would have knowledge of pour cost controls and general cost controls. 

Also, the ideal candidate would be able to create drink menus be able to train the various bartenders to create those drinks consistently

 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Training and continuing education- Support members of the division training team in the role of teacher by: -Participating in all levels of division training update meetings  and Identifying skill gaps within beverage and partnering to customize learning solutions.


• Evaluate recipe inconsistencies and coach on proper procedures


• Build guide book for top 100 cocktails .


• Organizes and conduct monthly training classes covering, service and overall product knowledge.


• Oversee all the new trainees through the process, conduct end of training certification .


• Supports food & beverage outlets by preparing specialty cocktails menus themed to the operation .


• Pair cocktails with food selection at the fine dining outlet .


• Present recipe selection for review four times annually .


• Evaluate and review all new products with Food and Beverage manager for possible placement in outlets .

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Education – High School or Equivalent. Possession of a Diploma in related field is an added advantage.


• 2+ to 5 years of experience. Previous management/leadership experience is preferable


• Candidates must be able to communicate, read and write in English fluently and in a professional manner


• Applicants must be 21 years of age or above.


• Candidates should be willing to relocate to Uganda.


• They should also have a valid passport.


• Having a work permit to work in Uganda is an added advantage but not necessary.
