Migori County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and the County Government Act No.17 of 2012.
 

Director, Gender and Equality

JG “R”:
One (1 Post)

Reporting to the Chief Officer in charge of Gender and Equality, the Director, Gender and Equality is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of Gender and Equality Policies and Programs in Migori County.
 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Development and implementation of Gender and Equality policies and programs in the County;

Monitor and evaluate the implementation of gender and equality policies and programs in the County;

Promote gender equality and freedom from discrimination in the County;

Conduct and coordinate research activities on matter relating to Gender equality and freedom from discrimination;

Investigate any matter in respect of principles of equality and freedom from discrimination in the County;

To conduct audits on the status of special interest groups including minorities, marginalized groups, Persons With Disabilities (PWD’s), women, youth and children in the County;

Coordinate and facilitate main streaming of issues of gender, persons with disabilities (PWD’s) and other marginalized group in the County;

Coordinate and organize Public Education Programs on Principles of equality and freedom from discrimination in the County;

Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements for Appointment

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Be a holder of at least a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences or, Gender and Development from a university recognized in Kenya;

Master’s degree in development studies, gender/women studies, social studies is an added advantage;

At least five (5) years experience in a gender related environment at senior management level

Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

Deputy Director, Gender and Equality

Reporting to the Director, Gender and Equality, the Deputy Director will be responsible for implementation of Gender and Equality policies and programmes in Migori County:

Duties and Responsibilities

Implementation of Gender and Equality Policies and programmes

Conduct of audits on the status of special interest groups including minorities, marginalized groups, persons with disabilities (PWDs), women, youth and children in 3. Developments of work plans and budgets;

Implementations of work plans,

Organize Public Education Programmes on gender issues in Migori County;

Generation of Gender Data Sheet;

Establishment of Gender Units,

Carry out any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements for Appointment

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Be a holder of at least a Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or Gender and Development from a university recognized in Kenya;

At least three (3) years’ working experience in gender responsive environment;

Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

Tax Compliance Certificate from KRA

Clearance Certificate from HELB

Clearance Certificate from Ethics and Anticorruption Commission (EACC)

Certificate of Good Conduct from Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
