Practical Action is an international development agency working with poor communities to help them choose and use technology to improve their lives for today and generations to come.Practical Action Eastern Africa is expecting to win a new project that aims to facilitate robust markets for livestock and livestock products through rehabilitation of off–farm infrastructures.

The major outcome of this objective is to have adequately rehabilitated, well equipped, serviced, and operational and well managed off-farm livestock markets and facilities in the areas of operation.The successful implementation of the project requires that we meet all the required hygiene components and specifically HACCP elements as provided within the Public Health Law.

We are therefore looking for a Project Officer – food hygiene and technology whose main role will be to ensure adherence with the all statutory provisions for the meat processing facilities.You will have at least a bachelor’s degree in Degree in Food Science and Technology, Veterinary Public Health or General Public Health, and at least two years experience on food/meat processing with good acquaintance on plant relay out requirement and knowledge on HACCP.

This is a fulltime position reporting to the head of Food and Agriculture, Disaster Risk Reduction Department.

Fluency in English and Kiswahili is essential.
