Job Description
The Company is one of the leading bottled water producers in Ethiopia. The Company has been growing rapidly and is poised to enter its next phase of growth and become the market leader with a significant private equity investment. The Company is based in Addis Ababa and is seeking a CEO to lead it through its next growth phase.
Summary:
The Executive will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Company’s operations, strategy and growth plans. The Executive shall report directly to the Board of Directors of the Company and shall actively lead and participate in strategic, operational and financial discussions and presentations to the Board. The Executive will be responsible for designing and executing on an operations improvement and growth plan as well as new product development and execution. In addition to the Executive’s normal leadership responsibilities during his/her employment with the Company, he/she shall (a) manage all of the Company’s human resources, budget and annual action plans and steer the Company in the direction of achieving its vision, goals and mission, and (b) perform any other duties assigned to her by the Board of Directors. The Chief Operating Officer (COO), The VP of Sales and Marketing and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Company shall directly report to the Executive. Through the management of the above officers and the senior management team, the Executive’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Devise strategic plan/targets to grow the overall profitability of the Company;
Develop the mission, vision, strategic plan, annual action plan and budget of the

Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the

Prepare quarterly and annual performance reports regarding financial and non-
Ensure corporate good governance and best practices are implemented and
Ensure the Company implements appropriate training programs for its employees;
Prepare sales and production reports and closing financial reports;
Develop mechanisms to monitor variable costs which will be reflected in the pricing Company and ensure their implementation;vision, mission and strategic objectives of the Company;organization;proper implementation of the planned action plans;achieve goals and targets;financial performance of the Company and submit to the Board of Directors;observed;strategy of the Company;
Establish controls and reporting mechanisms for: (i) the increase of senior management compensation, (ii) the license or transfer of Company patents, copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property (other than in the ordinary course of its business), (iii) the extension or guarantee of any debt or financial obligation, loans to directors, officers, employees or affiliate, (iv) the purchase any real property, (v) the appointment and/or reappointment of COO, CFO, consultants or other senior management, (vi) change in accounting methods or policies, or (vii) the appointment and/or reappointment of a corporate auditor, opening any new bank account, (viii) capital expenditures that exceed the annual approved budget;of the Company;
Develop effective board reporting systems on financial and operational performance
Set-up and oversee employee incentive plan;
Manage relationships on behalf of the Company and Shareholders including those with the Company’s staff, Clients, Suppliers, Government & Regulatory Bodies, strategic partners & the Public at large.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Sector Knowledge (water/beverages) is strongly preferred and significant FMCG experience is a must.
Significant experience in East Africa.
10-15 years of FMCG experience with at least 5 years of relevant experience in setting up a bottling plant, heading projects and or production lines in the beverage sector.
At least 5 years of general management experience including leading sales and marketing, production, finance, HR and supply chain operations.
