As a financial controller at Duma Works you’ll be working with the management team to come up with the best way to monitor, budget, and predict our finances.
Our startup is investor-backed and growing quickly and will use your models and budgets to inform all financial decisions.

If you start at Duma Works, you will:
Managing/Reporting
Ability to communicate financial concepts to members of the team with diverse backgrounds
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Manage and pay suppliers in a timely and respectful manner
Transactions
Process payroll in a timely manner
Ensure accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Try to get the best discounts for accounts payable
Manage and coordinate petty cash, mobile money, and online banking records and payments
Invoice clients in a timely and respectful manner
Ensure accounts receivable are followed up and collected promptly
Ensure periodic bank reconciliations are completed properly
Work with accounting software (Quickbooks online) to maintain the chart of accounts
Maintain an orderly accounting system
Maintain a system of controls over the accounting system
Reporting
Coordinate preparation of annual and monthly reports
Recommend benchmarks and milestones to track and measure performance of company operations
Work with company financial model to make predictions and goals for operations and sales
Manage production of annual budget and report variances to management
Create a system to manage cost reports
Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Compliance
Coordinate and manage external auditors for annual audit
Coordinate and process periodic statutory tax payments in a timely manner
Additional Accountabilities
We are a growing startup and need you to wear a wear a few hats, and do some additional things including
Manage and coordinate any suppliers, deliveries, and external contractors for office work
Create and maintain filing system for all company documents
You will need:
People should describe you as “smart and gets stuff done”
It will definitely be useful if you have:
Experience working in a startup environment
A great sense of humor
Knowledge of US tax systems preferred but not a deal breaker
