Hotel Operations Manager Job in Nairobi Kenya




Job Title: Operations Manager –Hotel
 



Industry: Hospitality
 



Location: Nairobi
 



Salary: 100K + Commissions
 



Our client is a fast growing hotel in Nairobi with recreational and conferencing facilities. 



They seek to hire an operations manager to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the hotel and its staff.
 


 


Job Purpose: To have commercial accountability for budgeting and financial management, planning, organizing and directing all hotel services, including front-of-house (reception, concierge, reservations), food and beverage operations, and housekeeping.




Key Responsibilities


  • Fully responsible for all aspects of all departments

  • Managing sales, budgets and finance

  • Promoting and marketing the hotel

  • Managing budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure

  • Maintaining statistical and financial records

  • Analyzing sales figures and devising marketing and revenue management strategies

  • Planning activities such as sales promotions

  • Recruiting, training and monitoring staff

  • Planning work schedules for individuals and teams

  • Dealing with customer complaints and comments

  • Addressing problems and troubleshooting

  • Ensuring events and conferences run smoothly

  • Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings

  • Dealing with contractors and suppliers

  • Ensuring security is effective

  • Carrying out inspections of property and services

  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations

  • Materials management and inventory control

  • Monitoring the purchase / requisitions of each department, the accounts receivable (collection from debtors) and the accounts payable (payable to the vendors / suppliers etc).


Minimum Qualification


  • Degree in business management, administration or related field

  • At least 5 years experience in similar role

  • Working background in hospitality preferred

  • At least a bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field

  • Computer literate

  • Strong public relations skills

  • Speedy action and proactive

  • Ability to work independently

  • Accuracy and attention to detail
