Manufacturing Firm General Manager, Production Job in Kenya

Our client, a busy manufacturing firm is seeking to recruit a vibrant and very technically sound Head of Production

Roles / Responsibilities

• Consistently meeting production goals and schedules aligned with repair & preventive maintenance program


• In-depth knowledge and technical expertise in process optimization


• Production planning on day to day basis considering market requirements, demand and availability


• He will be responsible for end to end production cycle, customer’s quality requirements, HSE, Plant Engineering, Sourcing, and H.R & Admin


• Consistently meeting production goals and schedules aligned with repair & preventive maintenance program


• To lead, manage & improve all production processes ensuring short and long term targets and optimize all resources


• Ensuring Raw materials, consumables and inventories are fully optimized


• Conversant with testing methods of both physical and chemical properties of raw materials, intermediate products and finished goods


• Knowledge in energy audit, plant feasibility study, up-gradations leading to enhanced efficiency and productivity etc.


• Ensuring products output consistently with high quality


• Supporting new product development


• Helping and defining a yearly and multiyear Capex Plan


• Preparing the purchase requests for the necessary materials and services for the plant operations


• Helping in defining Annual maintenance schedules and preparing procurement plant according to production needs.

• Ensuring products output consistently with high quality

Desired Profile

• Must be from Engineering / Management background, with 20 years’ experience out of which 5 years in same capacity in a manufacturing unit.


• Must have exposure in Heading Production / Process department


• The candidate should be an Engineering degree holder and have good exposure in cement plants, Soda ash plants or steel plants


• Working knowledge of management principles including Finance, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Human Resources


• Should have excellent exposure in Strategic Planning, Operational Management, and Quality Management System & General Administration.


• In-depth knowledge and technical expertise in process optimization


• Conversant with testing methods of both physical and chemical properties of raw materials, intermediate products and finished goods


• Knowledge in energy audit, plant feasibility study, up gradations leading to enhanced efficiency and productivity etc.


• Good management skills and interactive skills for achieving results
