Senior Procurement Officer (Operations) Job 2015

Job Description

Our client, a well-established FMCG company based in Nairobi is looking for a Senior Procurement Officer – Operations.

He/she shall be responsible for managing the procurement process of all materials.
 

Key Responsibilities

Assure availability of materials with the right quality, cost and risk.

Effective risk management and governance of materials suppliers.

Effective cost management on material procurement.

Build key relationship for value with materials / goods suppliers.

Focus on innovation and deliver innovative ideas aimed at step changing the purchasing process.

Ensuring competitive procurement of material requirements in the organization.

Participating in negotiations with material suppliers on existing and new engagements.

Implementing material procurement innovation initiatives.

Implementing of procurement strategy, policy and structure.

Conducting annual procurement planning for materials with the respective departments.

Managing tendering process for material requirements.

Ensure full utilization of purchasing ERP in material procurement.

Qualifications

Must have a business degree graduate in purchasing and supplies management.

Post graduate diploma in purchasing and supplies preferably C.I.P.S.

Basic accounting qualifications will be an added advantage.

KSCE minimum of B (plain).

Must have over 3 years’ experience in a busy procurement environment preferably FMCG.

Must have operations / materials procurement experience.

Excellent negotiation and deal closing skills.

Experience in developing and maintaining supplier relations.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh.100,000 – 150,000/= (Approx. 1,000 – 1,500 USD) depending on experience
