Agricultural Economist Job Vacancy in Kenya

An agricultural company is looking for an Agricultural Economist to fill in a consultancy position. 

The candidate will be required to set up a milling facility, hire and train staff on a short term 3 (three) months consultancy.

Responsibilities:

• Provide organizational leadership in a dynamic and collaborative environment.


• Responsible for setting the strategies and goals for the company’s core milling operations.


• Provide the overall business and technical leadership necessary to ensure that the flour milling division meets and exceed goals in all key performance areas.


• Ensuring that the milling facilities and finished products meet the company and government standards of quality, sanitation and safety.


• In charge of planning, development, execution, and management of various capital projects across all flour mill locations, both large and small in scope and cost.


• This position will be required to recruit and train other workers


• Solicit inputs from key partners as well as to promote information exchange and facilitate networking with industry stakeholders


• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:
 

The candidates should meet the following:

• Masters  Degree in agricultural or development economics, economics, rural development, or related field


• 7 years of progressive plant management experience in flour milling or food manufacturing environment is required


• Possesses clear standards of personal integrity, business ethics and values


• Fluency in Kiswahili or Luo is a plus


• Experience in Nyanza, Western and Coast
