Worldreader Pan African Director Job Vacancy

Our client Worldreader is a Global non-profit organization that uses technology to bring digital books to every child and her family so they can improve their lives. 

Worldreader is looking to hire a Pan African Director, who is an experienced leader and will specifically drive the scaling of operations within Africa as well as lead a team in both East and West Africa.
The Pan African Director will be responsible for the following:-

• Managing a talented group of diverse professionals;


• Identifying and assembling a pan-African advisory group;


• Developing and managing a regional budget and finances;


• Developing and implementing annual activity work plans and overseeing the implementation of our programs within schools, libraries and communities;


• Representing the organisation with critical stakeholders, including governments and major donor representatives (USAID, DFID), teachers, families and students;


• Coordinating closely with the organisation’s global team on organisational priorities;


• Identifying and developing partnerships with organisations in the country for expanding programming.

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:-

• A  bachelor’s degree in business, education or any related field


• A minimum of 8-10 years of experience working in the field of International Development, education or any related field;


• A minimum of 5 years experience in a senior leadership position;


• Must have an excellent record of team leadership and achievement;


• Must have demonstrable knowledge of education in the public sector;


• Should have extensive experience coordinating with and communicating with high-level government officials;


• Must have a demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate with multi-national teams;


• Should have strong communications skills, including experience representing an organization with multiple stakeholders, partners and funders;


• Should have experience in writing project reports in English;


• Experience working with and or for implementing programs with new technologies will be an added advantage;


• Should have knowledge of monitoring and evaluation techniques; and


• Good knowledge of French will also be an added advantage;
