Summary: Our client a flower farm in Ruiru seeks to recruit 2 farm supervisors-one in the farm and the other in the packing hall. 

The ideal candidates should have experience in a horticultural or floricultural farm.
 

 

Duties

• Assign duties, such as cultivation, irrigation, harvesting, packaging, grading, and equipment maintenance.


• Observe workers to detect inefficient or unsafe work procedures or to identify problems and initiating corrective action as necessary.


• Review employees" work to evaluate quality and quantity.


• Supervise employees and advise on labour requirements


• Prepare reports regarding farm conditions, crop yields, machinery breakdowns, or labor problems.


• Requisition or purchase of supplies, such as insecticides, machine parts or lubricants, or tools.


• Estimate labor requirements for jobs and plan work schedules accordingly.


• Train workers in techniques such as planting, harvesting, weeding, grading and in the use of safety measures.


• Train by performing the same horticultural or agricultural duties


• Any other duties as maybe given from time to time

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture or Floriculture


• 2-3 years’ experience as a supervisor in a busy Floricultural or Horticultural farm


• Leadership skills with ability to supervise a big team


• Good reporting skills


• Good communication and interpersonal skills
