Accounts Assistant – Retail Company

Location: Nairobi.

Our client dealing in retail trade (jewelry, African art, crafts, precious and semi-precious stones) with scope of operation at the local and international levels is recruiting for a skilled Accounts Assistant to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks.

Job Summary: Responsible for providing accounting support to the accounting department. 

Keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system, ensures files are complete and maintained as needed, handles accounts payable duties, and assists accounting personnel.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily analysis of sales.


• Preparation of petty cash report and disbursement of petty cash.


• Bank reconciliations.


• Posting of payables and receivables in Quick books.


• Preparation of monthly sales reports/ banking reports.


• Preparation of bank reconciliation.


• Audit preparation and posting of relevant journals to Quick books.


• Preparation and submitting of statutory returns.


• Payments processing.


• Filing of documents.


• Visa reconciliations.


• Preparation of currency reports.


• Any other report as may be required.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Degree in Accounting/Finance/ Commerce.


• Conversant with QuickBooks accounting software.


• 2 years’ experience in a busy environment.


• CPA K or Minimum CPA section 2.


• Analytical and good in numbers.


• Good command of English.


• Team player.


• Work under minimum supervision.
