Sawmill Business Manager Job in Kigali, Rwanda (500K)

Our client a Sustainable Forestry & Value Added Timber Products Company with operations in Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania, is seeking to recruit a Sawmill Business Manager to be based in their Rwanda plantation. 

The suitable candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, coordination, procurement of raw material, sales of the timber and manufacturing of value added products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, monitor and improve all applicable systems which need to be maintained and the sawmill and manufacturing plant.


• Liaise closely with the CEO in order to drive all marketing and sales efforts for the relevant products.


• Financial management of the day to day operations at the plant, management of cash and all cash payments to suppliers


• Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedures for all sawmill processes.


• Drive the procurement process of all raw materials according to the procurement practices.


• Implement and maintain relevant employee health, safety and environmental practices for the facility.


• Recruitment and retention of skilled team of labour.

Qualifications

• Must have qualification in wood technology science or forestry.


• An MBA would be an added advantage.


• Must have over 5 years in a supporting (assistant plant manager) capacity.


• Must have preferably 4 to 6 years in a leadership position.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 450,000 – 500,000/= (Approx. 4,500 – 5,000 USD) depending on experience
