Location: Sagana, Kenya
 


Salary: Negotiable

Our client is a well established fast growing hotel and resort with recreation, entertainment, dining facilities and nature attractions located in Sagana. 





They offer food and beverages and modern facilities for accommodation, swimming pool, children’s park, and venues for conferences, seminars, meetings and weddings.

 

The client is looking for a young and mature Assistant Manager with a broad vision of the facility as well as an attention to detail and good business operational skills.

S/he will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the facility. In addition, they will be accountable for product stocking, accounting, and marketing efforts at the resort while ensuring that guests are satisfied with their dining experience.

The Assistant Manager reports to the General Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all areas of the resort and make final decisions on matters of importance to guest service.

  • Attract new customers and guests through active marketing, excellent customer service, and adding value to the experience of our guests

  • Maximize the profitability of the resort

  • Ensure positive customer experiences by maintaining high-quality facilities and remedying problems

  • Assist in analyzing, preparing and managing the operational budget of the resort

  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas

  • Manage the resources and assets of the property, including staff, buildings, and other assets

  • Ensure all the departments are well stocked for the day and handle their issues and quality

  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.

  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.

  • Handle disciplinary issues at the floor level and escalate when need be

  • Any other duties as assigned.


Personal Attributes

  • Passion for delivering a product capable of exceeding the expectations of a mixture of guest

  • Excellent business acumen regarding the financial side and identifying new business opportunities

  • Experience in handling guest services issues and opportunities and possess very strong problem solving skills.

  • Well organized, flexible, and enjoy the challenges of supporting an extensive operation.

  • The ability to interact with associates and guest alike, in a fast paced environment with a high level of professionalism

  • Ability to handle pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,

  • Strong decision making ability and attention to detail

  • A team player with ability to motivate employees to work as a team

  • A positive attitude, outgoing and enthusiastic personality

  • Aged between 28 – 35 years


Qualifications

  • Diploma/ Degree in hotel/restaurant management OR hospitality form a reputable institution

  • At least 3- 5 years’ experience in hospitality experience, with 1 year being in a managerial position in Hotel industry

  • Marketing and sales experience is an added advantage

  • Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel)

  • Restaurant management experience is an absolute requirement
