Job title: Butcher – Fresh Butchery Counter
Job Holder Reports to: Sales Supervisor / Retail Manager / Factory Manager
The Role: To ensure the company product is effectively displayed and sufficient white meat is available at all times.
Key Result Areas (KRA’s):
- Good customer service ensuring proper displaying of fresh products in a clean environment.
- Increase sales by generating sufficient orders, pushing and promoting company white meat products.
- Standardize all butchery displays in outlets ensuring uniformity and that product codes /prices are in order.
- Create awareness of the meat product range by engaging with consumers.
- Ensure you generate meat orders from the respective outlets and that the outlets are stocked at all times.
- Ensure product ordered is correctly documented in the Goods transfer note and confirmed against physical quantities received.
- Assemble orders as per customers’ specification by cutting, weighing and packaging the products.
- Physical stock takes of opening and closing stocks on a daily basis.
- Ensure meat displayed is of good quality with correct coding, pricing and stored within correct freezer/chiller temperatures. That is, 0 – 4 degrees chiller and -18 to -24 degrees freezer.
- Ensure that meat for return are correctly documented.
- Ensure the butchery is clean, tidy and has a staff member to serve the customer at all times.
- Ensure you always report on duty on time.
- Ensure your health certificate is valid at all times.
- Ensure you are correctly dressed in the butcher’s attire as laid down by the company.
- Participating in any other duties that shall be reasonably assigned by Management from time to time.
