Reporting to Senior Manager IT Transformation, the position holder will shape and drive end to end Strategy and Architecture for cloud computing for safaricom ensuring that our technology assets evolve to deliver best customer experience, enable new rich services and meet future operational targets. This role requires a high caliber individual with strong strategic mindset. Solid understanding of cloud computing architecture together with underlying IT infrastructure is the key imperative. The role holders should always keep abreast with IT best practices and have a track record of working effectively with a wide set of stakeholders on complex technology programs.

Responsibilities

• Defining vision and overall Strategy and Architecture for cloud computing to meet business needs.


• Working with key stakeholders to integrate opportunities/challenges across different technology domain areas to create an aligned set of strategic priorities.


• Develop and maintain a roadmap to guide optimal deployment of workload on available cloud computing assets.


• Define and maintain a supplier and technology strategy for cloud infrastructure: Compute, Storage and Networking


• Define strategy and architecture to enable Safaricom be the technology partner of choice to both internal and external customers under any combination of existing and future operating models: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, DaaS (VDI)


• Staying abreast with industry developments in cloud computing through continuous research and engagement with group IT and vendors to drive best practice adoption.


• Support all financial and vendor management processes, ensuring continual alignment with strategy.

 Qualifications
