Supply Chain Management Deputy Director Job, County Government Jobs In Kenya 2023, 

The Murang’a County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions:

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Strategic/ Policy Responsibilities; the holder will assist the director supply chain management in the following functions;

  • The management and coordination of the supply chain services in the county;

  • Developing the County Annual Procurement Plan and ensuring adherence to it;

  • Providing administrative guidelines on interpretation and implementation of Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2015 and the supporting regulations;

  • Analyzing supply chain management policies, rules, regulations, structures and systems;

  • In liaison with other departments, provide guidelines on matters of procurement, contract design and implementation;

  • Preparing tender documents in accordance with the Public Procurement Act 2015 and coordinating the tendering process;

  • Determining and proposing methods and strategies of handling the supply chain management function;

  • Initiating and developing supply chain management policies and performance improvement strategies that are adaptive to the changing environment and technology;

  • Ensuring high professional supply chain management standards;

  • Offering professional opinions to the Accounting Officers.

  • Oversee the annual and quarterly stock taking process as required to ensure optimum stock levels are maintained;

  • Lead key strategic procurement processes, risk analysis and mitigation, supply chain integrating, stock control, supplier evaluation and business intelligence; an and 

  • Any other duty assigned by the Director Supply Chain Management

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Purchasing and SupplyManagement, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Law or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;

  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management/Chartered Institute of Supplies Management;

  • Registered member of Kenya Institute of Supply Management;

  • A Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;

  • Eight (8) years of service of which three (3) should be in a comparable position from a reputable organization; and

  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
