CO-OPERATIVE OFFICER 1 – JOB GROUP CPSB 09 (K) – (4 POSTS)

Oversee cooperative activities in several societies at the sub county level. This position is responsible for promotion and advisory on cooperative services and presiding over elections.

 Key Responsibilities


  •  Advise on cooperative investments by offering suitable solutions and recommendations on any issues that arise in the special and annual general meetings.

  •  Ensure compliance with cooperative Legislation through assisting in formulation of policy regulations as in line with the regulations.

  •  Conduct cooperative education and training for cooperative members, committee members and staff

  •  Assist in sourcing and utilization of credit facilities in the cooperative societies.

  •  Promote new cooperative societies by conducting pre-cooperative meetings and facilitating the process of registration

  •  Facilitate dispute resolution in cooperative societies through mediation and arbitration at the sub county level

  •  Advise on cooperative investments by offering suitable solutions and recommendations on any issues that arise.

  •  Ensure compliance with cooperative Legislation through assisting in formulation of policy regulations as in line with the regulations.

  •  Collect data on potential areas and policy formulation in order to ensure that effective development of strategies to promote cooperative development within the county.

  •  Develop and monitor work plans for cooperatives in order to ensure accountability and set goals are met.

  •  Prepare quarterly reports to be presented to the top management for further analysis and recommendations

  •  Preside over cooperatives elections to ensure transparent free and fair elections.

Qualifications


  •  Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, and Economics, Entrepreneurship or related field from a recognized University.

  •  Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Constitution of Kenya 2010, County Government Act of 2012 etc.

  •  Knowledge of the Cooperative Societies Act, 2012

  •  Served in the position of Cooperative Officer II for a minimum of Three (3) years’ or 4 years’ experience in a related area within the Public Service or Private Sector.

  •  Strong Leadership, Communication, Interpersonal and Organizational skills

  •  Ability to work under pressure

  •  Ability to build and lead cohesive teams

  •  Problem solving skills

  •  Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable
Salary: As set by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC)
