Role Summary/Purpose: GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation.Provide financial analysis for the Global Business Services (GBS) SSA team with the goal of driving base cost analysis and support to the FP&A Manager across the region. Develop and implement key metrics to drive focus on cost control, simplification, expand the operating structure and rigor around key processes (GPB, SII, OP) and analytics. Build and continually enhance regional reporting capability within the region and in partnership with peers across the Global Business Service.
Essential Responsibilities: The FP&A analyst will be independently owning the GBS SSA base costs and working closely with the FP&A Manager. Key responsibilities include: - Contribute to developing estimates, OP (operating plan/budget)/forecasts/reviews, Growth Playbook (3-year Plan), SII (1-year Plan) - Drive profitable growth in the region by providing analysis of results and identifying & tracking key metrics while advising on risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions - Contribute to improving efficiencies and performance as well as providing quality financial information. - Deliver analysis as part of the finance processes, linking financial results to operational performance drivers - Supports simplification and / or growth by driving key initiatives focused on automating and simplifying processes to increase productivity; develop and implement key metrics to measure speed and simplification for key operating processes. - Develop peer, cross-functional & cross-GE Business relationships to maximize best practice sharing & team effectiveness and build and enhance regional reporting and analysis capabilities - Leading & working closely with GBS SSA teams on Monthly/ Quarterly reporting, including P&L closing activities, variance analysis, and associated projects; ensuring correct booking and liquidation of costs. - Performing monthly and quarterly reporting package of the base costs versus plan - identifying risks and opportunities throughout the quarter and developing processes to mitigate risks - Analyzes variances and trends to determine changes in key metrics vs. expectations and reviews with leadership team. - Working closely with the FP&A manager to support ad-hoc projects
