Position Title: Human Resources Specialist
Reports to: Operations Director
Location: Nairobi
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for all personnel matters on the project, including hiring, on-boarding, performance management, benefits administration, and separation.
Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee the day-to-day management of all project personnel matters, ensuring the Nairobi and field offices function according to Chemonics HR policies and procedures, USAID regulations and GoK laws, regulations and practices;Coordinate the hiring process including the development of position descriptions, advertisements, review of CVs, short listing candidates, scheduling interviews, evaluation of candidates, tendering employment offers, negotiation of salaries, and executing employment agreements;Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, participant maintenance, and invoicing/billing. Handle all employee queries;Orient and on-board employees so they can quickly focus on project objectives. Provide orientation sessions to staff regarding their employment benefits, corporate policies, and workplace practices;Oversee staff trainings and skills development to ensure optimum productivity and efficiency in performance of duties;Be the first point of contact for all matters relating to travel permits and visa requirements for field team and visitors, technical agreements and any other HR administration and liaison matters that are required of an international organization operating in Kenya;Implement local employee policy manual, and ensure that each employee is briefed on and understands the project policies;Continuously review staff employment practice fundamentals and provide senior management with information, tools, and resources for handling employment issues;Work closely with the Management Representative in implementing internal control and procedural systems for the field office compliant with Kenya Pharma’s ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System principles, Chemonics International procedures and USAID regulations;Ensure all aspects of Human Resources management conform to Chemonics’ policies and best practices, USAID rules and regulations, and the laws of Kenya.Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience;Minimum 5 years human resources management experience required;Experience with USAID funded projects preferred;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Strong organizational and prioritization skills; Ability to work with a multi-cultural team in a fast-paced environment, managing several assignments and meet deadlines; andAbility to work both independently and in a team.Send your CV and cover letter with three professional referees to recruit@kenyapharma.org not later than 10th August, 2012.
