Job Title: Financial Controller
Job brief / purpose: Management of all in country Financial, Legal, IT and Administrative activities in Kenya
Area currently encompasses 2 legal entities, 2 assets, 1 Joint Venture
Relationships
Reports to Financial Controller – AfricaDotted line report to General Manager – Kenya
Responsible for work of Kenyan Accountancy and Admin staff
Works closely with other members of Kenya team, and Perth Finance team
Responsibilities
Ensure all standard the organization procedures and policies are followed in country, particularly organization Delegation of AuthoritiesEnsure all local accounting processes are completed efficiently and to the appropriate deadlinesManagement of Pronto ledger, transaction processing, cash and banking, local supplier management Management of tax compliance and monitoring of local fiscal environment – escalating potential issues as required. Ensure compliance with all other local government requirementsFinancial reporting, local budgeting, forecasting and cost controlManage local administration function, including correspondence, office procedures, facilities supervision etcManagement of local IT & communications needs, liaising with Perth IT department as requiredProvide assistance to Country Manager and in-country team in all matters relating to Finance and AdministrationDeputise for Country Manager when he is outside KenyaProvide information and reports to Perth/London teams as requiredLiaise with London and Perth re requirements for and implementation of supplier contracts in Kenya, as well as administration of documents relating to government complianceLiaise with External Advisors as requiredEducated to degree standardQualified Accountant, with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experienceExperience in Oil & Gas exploration preferredExperience in Kenya preferredSpecial Working Conditions: Based in Nairobi, with travel to Perth, London or other parts of Kenya as requiredIf interested , send your CV to recruitkenya@kimberly-ryan.net
