My client, an international Operator, is looking for an Operations Manager to join them on Expat and Residential basis in Kenya.
The role essentially involves high-level participation in Business Unit management meetings and developing relationships with other team members and stakeholders. Furthermore, the Operations Manager supervises the in-country team of locals and Expats (Well Engineering, Seismic Acquisition Manager, Logistic, Civil Engineering, etc) and is responsible for the operations budgets. The Operations Manager manages the exploration, appraisal and development operations /activities, with strict adherence to corporate HSE guidelines and builds a 'fit for purpose' operations organisation in-country and supervises in-country drilling and seismic operational activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Setting guidelines and practices for well site construction, respiration
Representing the company with government agencies, specifically on technical and operational issues
Developing close working relationship with technical representatives of State Oil Companies, JV partners and other key stakeholders
Developing and managing operations budgets
Preparing for future expansion of operations (well test operations, project/development activities)
Mentoring local staff
As such, I am keen to speak with Operations Managers, (ideally from a Process or Petroleum background) with experience of working in Africa and of developing local staff. Crucially, you must have experience with onshore field operations and development.
