Advocacy and Peace Building Learning Center Director

The Advocacy and Peace Building  Learning Center(A&PC LC)  Director will lead the Learning Center and to coordinate the efforts of the regional team to engage, influence and partner with other organizations in order to have a greater impact on Child Well Being.

Responsibilities Include

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Advocacy and Peace Building Learning Center to ensure National Offices(NO) are getting the appropriate support to maximize their impact on Child Well Being. Develop close relationships with National Office Advocacy staff and National Directors Work with Regional Senior team to establish (building on work previously done) the top 10 critical partners that WV should engage and influence in the region. Also establish a second tier of 10 as well. Ensure these are periodically reviewed and updated as necessary.Work with other unit s in the region to ensure the advocacy issues, and the relationships being developed through the regional capital work are supporting the priorities of the region.Master’s Degree in Development, Social Science, Management or other field applicable to developing country context preferred Experienced networker with an  ability to maintain a good up to date knowledge of the grant opportunities and trends in the humanitarian sectorProven experience in development work with a thorough understanding of sustainable development and sectoral interventions. Strong organization and delegation abilities; high performance and quality standards; negotiation skills; ability to motivate teams and inspire teamwork; Working knowledge of the WV Partnership preferred and ability to interface sensitively with people from various departments in both field and support officesAbility to engage at a strategic level with bilateral and multilateral donors, IO and INGO etcAbility to travel within country, regional and internationallyAble to work in a cross-cultural environment with a multi-national staffMust be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.Could you fulfill this vital, challenging and rewarding role?
