Background / General Description: The objective of this assignment is to oversee the provision of integrated building management and project management services to the South Sudan Country Office.  

The World Bank Country Office is located in Juba, and consists of a 2-storey office building with parking, and 23 residential units in 2-storey buildings, all within a contained, guarded compound.  

The position responsibilities include the oversight and coordination of contracted services for housekeeping, building maintenance, and equipment maintenance contracts.  

The incumbent will report to the International Facility Manager, GSDCR  based in Washington, and will be a key member of the Global Facilities Management team.  S/he will be based in Juba, South Sudan.

Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment. All others will be offered a 3 year term appointment.

Duties and Accountabilities:
Manage an outsourced Building Management team in the Juba Country Office which will provide and coordinate all facilities requirements of the buildings and the users, to include building and grounds maintenance, equipment repair, housekeeping, waste management.Work closely with GSDCR Manager and the designated RM Officer to formulate reporting procedures for monthly expenses. Provide monthly building management budget and expense reports to the GSDCR Manager.  As required, attend and report at the CO Management Unit meetings.Frequently communicate with CO staff by sharing and updating them on Facilities Management activities on the ground that may affect their work environment, either through e-mail or during staff meetingsPost any information on time to staff through e-mail that needs their action either during   emergency or during repairs in office hours. Develop technical and statement of work specifications for contracted building and equipment maintenance services and participate in the evaluation/selection of bidders responding to RFIs, RFPs, or other contract bidding processes as needed in the South Sudan office . Deputy Director General – Partnerships, Regions and Impact

Role: To provide oversight and strategic direction to staff in Regions, Partnership Office, Protocol, Capacity Development Unit and Impact and Extension Team

Duties and Responsibilities:

Management and leadership

Line management of ICRAF’s five Regional Programmes: working closely with i) Deputy Director General -Research to assist with links/synergies with the Science Domains and global projects; and ii) Deputy Director General –Corporate Services to provide oversight on regional and country performance, staffing, administration and operations;Serve as a member of the Centre’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and participate in strategic planning and decision-making;Guide and support the capacity strengthening efforts of the Centre, including oversight of the Capacity Development Unit;Represent ICRAF at important global and regional fora;Carry out any other tasks related to this portfolio as may be assigned by the Director General.Guide the development and management of host country agreements in countries where ICRAF has a presence.Guide the Centre's efforts to form and maintain strategic partnerships with relevant organizations for the delivery of Agroforestry Research for Development;Link partnering efforts with donor relations and resource mobilization activities at the Centre through the Programs Development Unit;Position agroforestry favorably for partners to expand and deepen their agroforestry agendas and capacities;Monitor and report internally and to the CGIAR Consortium, as appropriately, on matters relating to partnerships;Guide ICRAF on handling of Hosted Institutions and also assist ICRAF scientists hosted by partner organizations.PhD in agricultural, agroforestry, forestry, natural resources management, social sciences or a related discipline Strong professional affiliations10 – 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in developing countries, managing partnerships, Impact and administration responsibilities at a senior level.A good understanding of the role of partnership and impact assessment in a knowledge based organizationStrong conflict resolution and track record in managing collaborative relationships with a range of partners, including the private sector, in the agricultural or knowledge based institutions Detailed awareness and knowledge of some areas of the global agroforestry research agenda.An established record of research achievements, including a substantive history of scientific publicationStrong interpersonal skills and communication ability in English, additional language (French /Spanish) is an added advantage.Demonstrated ability to foster and manage interdisciplinary, gender-inclusive and multi-cultural teamsExcellent leadership skills and ability to make convincing presentations at high levelExtensive familiarity with tropical developing countries and regionsDemonstrated ability for decision making and follow ups.Terms of offer

This position is remunerated on international terms. 

The appointment will be for an initial period of three (3) years, subject to a nine (9) month probation period.

Responsibilities Include

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Advocacy and Peace Building Learning Center to ensure National Offices(NO) are getting the appropriate support to maximize their impact on Child Well Being. Develop close relationships with National Office Advocacy staff and National Directors Work with Regional Senior team to establish (building on work previously done) the top 10 critical partners that WV should engage and influence in the region. Also establish a second tier of 10 as well. Ensure these are periodically reviewed and updated as necessary.Work with other unit s in the region to ensure the advocacy issues, and the relationships being developed through the regional capital work are supporting the priorities of the region.Master’s Degree in Development, Social Science, Management or other field applicable to developing country context preferred Experienced networker with an  ability to maintain a good up to date knowledge of the grant opportunities and trends in the humanitarian sectorProven experience in development work with a thorough understanding of sustainable development and sectoral interventions.
