Job Title: Business Manager
Department: Datacenter, Security & Storage solutions
Reporting to: General Manager
Company Profile: Our client is a computer storage and data management company
Role Objective / Summary: To manage the overall business Portfolio; internal and external positioning of the brand to align vendor objectives and company objectives
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
General
Drive sales via the marketing, sales and support teams to maximum potential
Maintain market leader standards
Train or assist with training of reseller/end-user staff in company’s’ solutions at favorable margins
Respond via Account Managers to quotation requests, RFIs and RFPs on company’s solutions across the region
Enhance professional services positioning
Product Management
Build Channel
Work with AMs across region to recruit, enable and grow existing and new company’s resellers (and for other vendors where introduced)
Agree territory specific actions to develop and upgrade resellers
Ensure all vendor certification requirements are met by resellers
Plan and manage the implementation of vendor events and road shows
Maintain regular email and telephone communication with resellers
Plan and implement vendor specific marketing campaigns
Upgrade existing Resellers to next tier
Vendor Management
Agree on go-to-market strategies with vendor
Develop and agree business plan with vendor
Assign specific responsibilities to relevant staff to achieve vendor business plan
Provide sales forecast and agree targets with vendor
Adhere to reporting requirements stipulated by the vendor
Ensure all internal staff are trained to requisite level on vendor products and meet vendor certification requirements
Daily contact with key staff in vendor distribution team
Conduct formal review meetings with vendor distribution teams
Pricing
Negotiate special pricing with vendor on a case-by-case basis
Agree and implement special pricing conditions for customer projects
Maximize gross margin potential
Set pricing conditions and terms based on Reseller status
Vendor Targets
Compile budget for vendor products on a quarterly basis in consultation with Territory Director
Review actual sales against budget (monthly) and identify deviations
Agree corrective actions with Territory Directors to address deviations in actual sales versus budget
Achieve the sales targets for the Vendor
Vendor MBO and rebate tracking and management
Staff Management
Conduct quarterly performance reviews with all staff.
Develop employees in current positions through coaching, delegation and feedback.
Identify training needs and ensure that they are met.
Identify any performance shortfalls and implement appropriate corrective action.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management / International Business, Business IT, or related field
MBA from a highly recognized/rated university is an added advantage
At least 5 years’ experience in Marketing and/or Sales or 3 years product management experience along with 2 years Distribution sales experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders.
