Position Title: Programme Assistant (Infographics/Reports)
Grade: SSA-G5
Place of Work: Nairobi, Kenya with frequent travel to Somalia (50%)
Reports to: Designated Cluster Co-Coordinator
Duration of Appointment: 5 months
Objective:
The Food Security Cluster is the main coordinating body for the humanitarian food security and livelihoods programming in Somalia. One main responsibility of the FSC is to collect data, analyse it and prepare information products for a wide range of stakeholders.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Responsible for all FSC mapping needs
- Prepare FSC monthly/quarterly/annual bulletins
- Develop infographics as needed
- Focal point for preparation of briefs/presentation to donors
- Preparation of the 13 regional briefing bulletins (every 4 months); based on FSC data, partner presence, responses, and trends in partner participation
- FSC IM focal point for regional ICWGs to prepare information required at the ICWGs
- Assessments focal person for the FSC
Qualifications:
Education:Degree in Design, Architecture, Urban Planning, Geography, Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Agriculture, Information Technology or related fields. Must have demonstrable experience using ARCGIS, ADOBE Suite (Illustrator, In-design) and EXCEL.
Competencies:
- Advanced skills utilizing ARCGIS, ADOBE Suite and Excel;
- Ability to handle a large volume of work quickly and accurately under time constraints;
- Ability to maintain accurate and precise records;
- Able to work independently
- Innovative data visualization skills
- Excellent communication skills to all levels of staff;
- Courtesy, tact and ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds;
- Knowledge of food security sector would be an added advantage;
- Knowledge of conducting assessments would be an added advantage.
