Finance Job Main Purpose
Partner with Brand Building, Customer Development and Brand Development to deliver adequate decision support for all teams to drive business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Forecasts category performance on eight-quarter rolling basis.
Analyzes results on a monthly basis-keeping scorecard of variance from forecast.
Prepares business cases and scenarios to support in decision-making.
Track spends of BMI and TTS and measuring.
Evaluation of consumer promotions
Flags risks to the category.
Prepares competitor intelligence data for purposes of leading change instead of reacting.Results reporting and analysis
Budget control and monitoring of Category Innovation Plan budgets (CIP covering advertising production, agency fees, other brand development costs, market research, R&D costs)
Register all Marketing briefs, MPOs, PRs and Stock Withdrawal
Assist finance business partner to analyze promotional briefs and ensure all marketing activities are pre & post evaluated
Track SLA for BMI activities (MPOs, Briefs, etc.)
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts relating to BMI
Prepare comprehensive monthly BMI commentary for both Actuals and Forecast
Provide monthly BMI data to reporting accountant for month end reporting
Ensure all process notes are up to date
Enforces governance process around Advert and Promotion Accounting
Ensures data accuracy and integrity in the posting and reconciliation of Advert and Promotional Activities on SAP and manages them quarterly
Drills down to isolate exceptions and their impact on monthly results
Mines data to identify trends in performance and glean value adding insights into company performance
Ensures procurement of all promotional and marketing items are channeled through centralized Non-Production Items (NPI) buying
Prepares decision support information for Brand Building Managers to aid efficient use of promotion budget
Key Skills and Qualifications for Finance Jobs in Kenya
Must be a graduate of a Business Course, preferably with excellent Accounting background
Accounting graduate & Chartered Accountant.
At least 4-5 years’ experience in Management Accounting in FMCG
Management/Financial Accounting experience in an FMCG business.
Experience in a multinational company will be ideal.
Strong knowledge and practical experience in the application of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word tools.
Decision Support and Analytical Skills
Performance Monitoring and Management of Business Planning Processes
Good knowledge/hands on of an ERP system- SAP.
