IT Manager Job in Kenya

Vacancy: IT Manager
 

A position as IT Manager is available in an international solar energy startup company in Kenya. 

Our company goal is to power Kenya’s rural villages by using innovative solar energy technology and mobile payment systems.

Our culture is international and informal. We keep a high ethical standard and work closely with NGOs and international development organisations.
 

Tasks

• Designing and implementing IT Networks


• Handing of network security, wired and wireless network installation, configuration and troubleshooting


• Maintain online IT sales tracking and CRM system.


• Work closely with IT team abroad to give requirements and participate in dialogue with the developers of company systems.


• Work with our mobile payment partners to implement mobile money/payment solution.


• Select, setup and maintain call center call solutions for call center agent handing, inbound/outbound and internal calling with required reporting Select, setup and maintain software for BI and analytics.


• IT support to small office team of up to 10 employees (for example: Windows 8, MS Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Dropbox)


• Maintain our webpage, facebook page and other social media platforms.


• Operating system and software installation


• Coordination with vendors


• Selection of IT hardware and solutions

Team is small and the company is a new company, so you must be flexible in which tasks to perform.
 

Mandatory qualifications

• Technical degree at bachelor or similar.


• Minimum 1 year working experience in IT.


• Good overall computer skills.


• Technical knowledge about implementing and maintaining IT systems.


• Basic understanding of customer and business needs.


• An ability to work systematically and independently.


• Native Swahili speaker


• Fluent command on English language – both oral and written.

Additional preferred qualifications

• Basic programming experience in any language (e.g. Java, C#, PHP, databases)


• 5+ years of working experience in IT


• Experience with user accounts, email systems, CRM systems and databases


• Understanding of network security (TLS, SSH, https)


• International Experience will be preferred.
