Job Description
Our client is a well-known open-air restaurant within Nairobi, that specializes in a wide variety of barbecued meat, and famous for their game meat.
The restaurant has a night club on the premises with a capacity of over 2,500, as well as an internet cafe, playground, and six bars.
The restaurant which is a popular tourist destination, holds large events, concerts with local and international artists, entertains and dines very high profile celebrities and dignitaries.
To support their current staff needs, we are seeking applications from suitable candidates to fill the following position:
Sales and Marketing Executive
This position reports to the General Manager is responsible for the achievement of targeted goals as defined in the Unit’s Marketing Plan.
S/he is in charge of orienting and following up to materialize the budgeted revenues of respective segments through existing clientele and key prospects, focusing on revenue maximization, resource management and the unit’s image building.
Responsibilities:
Prepare the annual marketing plan in liaison with the GM and participate in setting up the marketing policies, procedures and objectives.
Determine the marketing and sales strategies in all related areas required to meet the annual budgets of the unit.
Supervise, manage and follow-up on all leads towards business materialization and long term customer relationship.
Ensure permanent updated files are maintained for all corporate, local and tour groups
Through various tools (e.g. media, social events etc.) explore economic data, new developments in certain companies’ structures, new assignments, new business centres, new projects which all could be of interest and benefit to the unit and distribute the information to the relevant staff.
Keep close follow up on developments of the competitor restaurants (covers, structural alterations, special campaigns, rate promotions, marketing efforts, theme events, etc.)
Make personal sales visits to top key accounts regularly to broaden customer contact base
Maintain updated customer profiles and database, capable of identifying sales calls report and activities.
Ensure efficient two-way communication to keep customers updated on the latest developments in the unit and managers on all changes in the customer profile and market trends.
Work with unit managers to plan promotional campaigns for meals and drinks ensuring the information is distributed in a timely manner.
Prepare relevant monthly reports for distribution to managers and directors
Plan and execute the advertising needs of the unit, keeping within corporate standards and group image.
Requirements / Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing option) preferred
A minimum of 3 years sales and marketing experience (hospitality industry experience preferred)
Effective listening, oral and written skills
Development and delivery of sales presentations
Superior negotiation skills
Knowledge of current market trends
Ability to work in a team oriented atmosphere
Ability to be attentive to detail
Excellent communications and public relations abilities
