Job Description
Our client, a start up Chain of Supermarkets is looking for a General Manager with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in retail management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that create sustainable value for the company and its clients.
Key Responsibilities;
Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency.
Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control.
Analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales.
Analyzing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning.
Using information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning.
Dealing with staffing issues, conducting appraisals and performance reviews.
Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.
Resolving health and safety, legal and security issues.
Responding to customer complaints and comments.
Organizing special promotions, displays and events.
Updating colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues.
Touring the sales floor regularly and identifying or resolving urgent issues.
Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry.
Qualifications:
Must have an MBA.
Bachelor degree in business or supply chain management.
Must have 10 years retail experience in a senior role for a well established chain of retail supermarkets.
Strong entrepreneurial skills.
Strong people management skills.
Monthly gross salary: Competitive remuneration depending on skills and experience.
