Risk Analyst Job in Kenya - Insurance Sector

Our client, one of the leading players in the insurance sector seeks to enhance the capacity of its Risk and Compliance function and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Risk Analyst. 

Reporting to the Group Risk and Compliance Manager, the Risk Analyst will be responsible for the following duties;

• Implementing the Group-adopted Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework.


• Continuously identifying and assessing enterprise risks and developing plans for controlling/mitigating identified risks and reporting through the risk register.


• Continuously monitoring the Key Risk Indicators and regularly reporting the status of identified risks.


• Developing and managing a comprehensive, balanced risk portfolio.


• Ensuring business continuity plans are in place, are regularly tested and are adequate.


• Scanning environmental risks and identifying new threats and opportunities that may impact on the business.


• Preparing risk mitigation implementation and follow up plans and mechanisms and risk reporting channels.


• Conducting risk assessment, risk quantification and risk sensitivity analyses.


• Updating corporate, divisional/departmental Risk Registers.


• Creating awareness and embed a risk based decision making culture.


• Performing any other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Accounting, Actuarial, Law or other comparable qualifications from a recognized institution.


• At least six years’ work experience with wide exposure to risk management and risk compliance issues.


• Training in Risk Evaluation and Management.


• Registered Member of a recognized professional body of Risk management or related bodies i.e. Institute of Risk Management (IRM), Global Association of Risk Professionals, Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), Certified Enterprise Risk Manager (CERM) or Association of Insurance and Risk Managers (AIRM).


• Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.


• Demonstrable ethical and integrity credentials.


• Excellent conceptual, analytical and reporting skills.


• Information gathering and analysis skills.


• IT User and data analysis skills.
