Our Client, a fast – growing manufacturing Company specializing in fast moving consumer goods is seeking to recruit a highly ambitious candidate to fill in the following position in their Nairobi office:
Logistics / Distribution Manager
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position is responsible for fleet management and distribution activities from the factory to the point of delivery.
In addition, the position will be responsible for ensuring timely and cost effective delivery of products to the customers.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Developing and implementing fleet management and distribution procedures and ensuring proper implementation
- Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries
- Ensuring that all vehicles are well maintained, regularly serviced and also making sure that they meet the required regulatory standards on transportation of petroleum products
- Managing the necessary logistics from the suppliers end (locally and overseas) to the factory
- Monitoring transportation costs and facilitating payment of transporters
- Negotiating on all logistics and distribution related contracts and acquiring the necessary operating licences from the regulatory bodies
- Preparing and presenting periodic logistics reports to the management
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in any related field
- Proven experience in managing end to end logistics and distribution processes
- At least 5 years’ of experience in logistics in FMCG
- Experience in managing large Kenyan FMCG distribution networks will be an added advantage
- Excellent team leadership skills, communication, customer service, organization and presentation skills
