Our
Client, a fast – growing manufacturing Company specializing in
manufacture of steel products, is seeking to recruit a highly ambitious
candidate to fill in the following position in their Nairobi office:
 

Factory Manager
 

Reporting
to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for overseeing
overall manufacturing of products, timely delivery as per
specifications laid out and in a cost effective manner. 

The position will also be responsible for managing the plant / factory’s personnel, infrastructure and capital.  

 

Principal Accountabilities:

• Ensuring production schedules are met as per plant capacity


• Managing all production costs and budgets as well as running and interpreting the Profit & Loss reports


• Ensuring compliance of all environmental, health and safety standards as per the laid down company and statutory regulations


• Managing performance of factory personnel using the Six Sigma performance management method

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering and Master of Business Administration.


• Professional qualifications from relevant engineering bodies


• A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in manufacturing/production industry with  at least 3 years in senior management


• Experience in working in ISO Quality Management certified environment


• Experience in line manufacturing preferably with steel, aluminium, wood e.t.c


• Thorough understanding of environment, health and safety regulations within the manufacturing industry


• Proven knowledge of Six Sigma method of performance management


• Excellent team leadership skills, communication, organization and presentation skills
