Our client, an insurance company seeks to recruit a Legal Officer to join their aggressive team
Location: Nairobi
Role Purpose: Assisting in the management of all third party claims in all aspects of legal performance of the Company.
Responsibilities
- Determining adequacy of reserves for Third Party Claims and ensuring the same are booked with accounts
- Negotiating settlements out of court
- Giving legal advice to various Departments of the Company dealing with legal issues
- Drafting, vetting and approving legal documents
- Assisting in debt recovery following up with witnesses for cases filed in court
- Attending court as and when required by lawyers
- Liaising with the external Advocates on cases filed in court
- Researching on legal cases for purposes of processing claims
- Reviewing and assessing Third Party Claims
- Ensuring witnesses attend court
- Following up on recovery cases in court
Qualifications
- Bachelors of Law Degree
- At least 4 years’ experience as Legal Officer in insurance industry
- Compliance and risk management
- Visionary Leadership
