Job Vacancy: Regional Sales Manager
Our client in the MFCG Sector seeks to fill the above position.
The ideal candidate will be the leader of a selling Team comprised of Territory sales executives and channel partners.
S/HE will be accountable for achieving the Regional sales and profitability goals.
This role provides direction and leadership to the field Regional Staff while responsible for the customer satisfaction and driving sales for market share leadership within the Region.
Job Responsibilities
- Accomplishes regional sales human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees in assigned region; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achieves regional sales operational objectives by contributing regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining regional sales system improvements; implementing change.
- Ensures implementation of regional and channel strategy.
- Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for the region in support of national objectives.
- Maintains and expands customer base by counselling territory sales executives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
- Carry’s out channel partner health checks.
- Recommends product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
- Develops metrics and reports to track and report, with high quality analyses, on the progress of defined sales targets, initiatives and ROI.
- Implements trade promotions by publishing, tracking, and evaluating trade spending.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
- Accomplishes sales and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven leadership skills.
- Supervisory or management experience, preferably of a sales team.
- Working knowledge of FMCG/ TELCO market segments within an assigned sales territory.
- Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales position, particularly in Territory Management.
- Strong closing skills.
- Proven oral, written, telephone and presentation skills.
- Developing external partnerships and strategic alliances
- Strong interpersonal skills & Relationship building.

- Sales Planning, Managing Profitability
- Ability to learn and retain product specific information and utilize to position the features and benefits to customers.
- Computer literate with knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications especially Advanced Excel.
Working Experience
- Minimum 5 years hands on experience in Regional Sales Management, of which 2 years must have been in Territory Management, preferably in a fast moving consumer goods company or Mobile Telecom Company.
- Must possess multinational corporate exposure.
Educational Level
- Minimum degree in a Business related field
- Knowledge of business finance is essential.
- Post graduate certification in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage
