Job Title: Territory Manager
Location: Kenya
Position Reporting to: Deputy Country Manager
Job Purpose / Summary: Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned territory.
Staffs and directs a distributor and reseller team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.
Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for end users and Channel Partners.
Key Roles:
- Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
- Responsible for the performance and development of the Channel Partners, which includes, Resellers and Distributors.
- Prepares action plans by individual resellers as well as by overall channel for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
- Develop and initiate trade marketing activities with partners aimed at creating awareness including road shows, trade fairs and exhibitions
- Responsible for all below the line presentations within their assigned territory, including, posters, banners, product display, shop branding and any other assigned BTL material with a view of ensuring that brand is visible and positively resonates with the public
- Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
- Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
- Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
- Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
- Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses.
- Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
- Recruits, tests, and hires Resellers and Distributors based on criteria agreed upon by senior management.
Relationships and Roles:
Internal / External Cooperation
- Insures that all Resellers and Distributors meet or exceed all activity standards for sales and market awareness.
- Organizes in conjunction with the partners trade marketing activities
- Conducts regular coaching and counseling with Resellers and Distributors to build motivation and selling skills.
- Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales & Marketing or Business Administration or related field
- Sales & Marketing Professional certification
- At least 5yrs of progressive sales experience in FMCG industry focused on General Trade
- Managerial Experience & capabilities
- Result oriented with ability to work under strict deadlines and meet sales targets
- A high sales drive and strong will to succeed
