Management Accountant – Ipsos in Kenya
 

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the holder of this position will be charged with the responsibility of the financial reporting within the overall finance function, ensuring the accuracy of all financial reports for the business, and that the company is in full compliance with local laws and Tax regulations.
 

The holder of the position assists the management and leadership of the Finance team in staff development, creating efficiencies within the system, ensure staff continuity, and build capacity for Finance across different skill levels.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure complete, timely and accurate financial reporting.


• Double up as back up for the tax accountant role


• Ensure timely production of ad-hoc financial business reports in line with the business reporting timelines as well as produce complete annual reports as may be required by stakeholders while complying with law and accounting standards


• Ensuring efficient and effective management, utilization and control of the company’s tax assets and liabilities, to minimize and seal tax exposure to the Company


• Develop and maintain efficient systems to monitoring integrity of financial statements generated and reported for the business.


• Ensuring that the Company complies with necessary legal and statutory financial reporting requirements


• Ensuring all financial and control assurance & risk management are in place and lead in the development & implementation of governance


• Liaising with Internal and external auditors for reporting purposes


• Provide team leadership and knowledge sharing in the finance function


• Support the cluster CFO in managing cluster financial reporting, consolidation analysis and submission to management

Knowledge & Skills
 

The successful candidate will have:

• University Degree in business field


• Qualified Accountant (CPA (K), ACCA, ACA, ACMA)


• Extensive senior business reporting and consolidation experience (over 2 years) gained in a multinational corporate environment


• Comprehensive financial management knowledge


• Comprehensive tax understanding and knowledge


• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage expectations


• Willingness to work long hours


• Good planning and communication skills


• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, motivate & develop people


• Negotiation skills & the ability to influence at all levels


• Well-developed analytical skills


• Adaptability and flexibility in service delivery


• Knowledge and understanding of Symphony will be an added advantage
