MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need based in Dagahaley and Likoni, Mombasa Sub County.

Job Title: Medical Storekeeper / Data Processing Officer
 

Location: Coordination Office, Nairobi   
 

Start date: Immediately
 

Length of contract: 12 months fixed term contract with possibility of extension based on performance (Includes 3 month probationary period)

The selected candidate will be reporting to the Deputy Supply Manager.

Main Tasks include, but not limited to:

• Receive orders and deliveries, identifying potential disparities against cargo manifest and reporting them.


• Store materials in accordance with the system in force, in order to ensure continuous availability. This includes:

1. Ensure correct fill in entries on the stock cards and software


2. Prepare orders of the different consumption units (departments, wards, other), ensuring the packaging and proper dispatching.


3. Reporting any anomalies or changes in consumption patterns to the line manager.


4. Packing (according to transport means), weigh and label freight (destination, number of shipping units, way bill number, weight and mode of transport) and assign a shipping number to each package, in accordance with the line manager’s instructions


5. Carry out or participate in regular inventories including Emergency preparedness response stock.


6. Report missing material/ damage/ robbery.


7. Control warehouse limited access to authorized personnel and ensure doors and other exists are secured.

• Ensure that all items are well organised and correctly stored, well protected, fully identified and easily accessible. 


• Control warehouse facilities in order to ensure materials are in good keeping conditions. This entails;

1. Monitor temperature in the warehouse and ensure that products requiring cold chain are suitably stored and transports received and prepared appropriately according to MSF Supply and Cold Chain protocols


2. Ensure cleanliness of premises (stock pharmacy).


3. Maintain refrigerating equipment in close collaboration with the logistics department.

• Follows up stock levels with regards to alarms thresholds, stock out, expiry dates and drugs to expire in the following 6 months.


• Assist the line manager with preparation of the stock report.


• Responsible for monitoring the store temperature and ensure Cold Chain items are stored in an adequate temperature

Requirements

Education: Desirable secondary education and warehouse management related studies.

Experience: Previous experience as storekeeper desirable.

Languages: Local language essential. Mission language desirable.

Knowledge

• Essential basic mathematics and use of measuring equipment.


• Desirable computer literacy (word, excel)
