Trainee Estate Accountant at Kakuzi PLC

Kakuzi PLC is a listed Kenyan agricultural company trading on both the Nairobi and London Stock Exchange engaging in the cultivation, processing and marketing of avocados, blueberries, macadamia, tea, livestock and commercial forestry. We continuously strive to build a sustainable agricultural portfolio that can mitigate weather risks which the sector has historically been subject to. Our development plans are in full swing with significant additional areas of avocado and macadamia being planted with initial trials for blueberry development starting at the end of 2018.

Summary

Kakuzi PLC is looking to recruit highly focused and results oriented individuals for the positions of Trainee Estate Accountants.

The positions exist for the purpose of training and developing individuals with the right educational background to be part of the accounting function at our Makuyu operations.

The job holders will work under the supervision of Area Accountants/ Line Managers and will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accounting records and ensuring accurate and timely accounting inputs to meet strict deadlines. In addition, the persons will be involved in monthly expenditure analysis and reporting.

Qualifications and person specifications

• Should have obtained CPA Part II or equivalent level of ACCA


• Hold a degree in any business discipline


• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills


• Accounting experience in a computerized environment will be an added advantage


• Be a person of Integrity


• Be a team player with good interpersonal skills


• Willing to work in a farm environment.
