Assistant

Job
Purpose: The accounts assistant will provide support to the accounts
department by managing daily accounting tasks. He will be part of a team of
professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s
finances.

The
goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and
help the company be fully aware of its financial condition. Male candidates

Key
Accountabilities

·  Verifying
payment vouchers to ensure they are duly signed, coded, with correct amount and
properly filed.

·  Ensure
accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses,
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

·  Support
audit Process

·  Ensure
that the company financial and accounting policies are implemented correctly

·  Ensure
that records comply with laws and regulations

·  Compute
taxes owed, prepare tax returns, and ensure prompt payment (VAT, PAYE etc.)

·  Timely
posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are
up to date.

·  Provide
direction during stock take so as to ensure proper revenue reporting.

·  Ensure
all statutory details are accurate and paid on time

·  Updating
accounts receivables and issue invoices and allocate payments promptly

·  Updating
accounts payable and conduct reconciliations

·  Petty
cash issuance, control and reconciliation.

·  Budget
Monitoring

·  Perform
timely Bank and till reconciliations.

·  Daily
confirmation of the sales report.

·  Perform
any other roles as assigned by the management.

Qualifications

·  A
bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance from a recognized University.

·  Must be
a person of high integrity and proven ethical behavior

·  Ability
to maintain confidentiality and uphold the integrity of the company.

·  Qualified
Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA finalist added advantage) with at least 2 years
of working experience in a similar position.

·  Must be
conversant with and have hands on experience in tax returns filing and
remittance (VAT, PAYE etc.)

·  Good
knowledge of computer accounting softwares.

·  Organizational
skills, be self-directed and self-motivated.

·  Be
detail oriented, organized and accurate

·  Demonstrate
the ability to work with numbers and understand a broad range of common
financial matters in a timely manner.

·  Should
be very vibrant, outgoing and possess great communications skills/ listening
skills
